Vote on or before Tuesday, November 2nd!
When I announced my candidacy for school board in August 2017, I could never have imagined the challenges our community would face. I am a few months away from completing my second term as Board Chair, and the simple fact is that this is an unbelievably hard job.
Through all of the challenges of the past 18 months, I’ve been proud of what we’ve accomplished and grateful to serve alongside outstanding and dedicated board colleagues and district leaders. We’ve made some significant policy improvements, we’ve welcomed amazing new administrators and leaders, and we’ve worked tirelessly to keep our students, staff and community safe.
And the work must continue, as we still have much left to do.
- The district’s progressive and ambitious Strategic Plan for Racial Equity Transformation charts a path to improve the educational outcomes for all students, especially students of color. District leadership and staff must be held accountable to fulfilling this mission.
- We must continue to draft, revise and adopt policies that keep the needs of our students front and center.
- We must foster a spirit of collaboration and unity as we deepen our commitment to serve ALL residents of St. Louis Park. We educate learners of all ages through our community education programming, and our facilities are community resources. We must work together to serve each other.
- As the pandemic rages on, the health and safety of our students, their families, and our staff must remain a top priority.
I have learned so much in my last four years as a member of the St. Louis Park School Board. I believe that the experience and knowledge I’ve gained is a meaningful and valuable asset to our community. It would be a true privilege to serve a second term on the St. Louis Park School Board, and I would be honored to have your vote.
